Veggies For Breakfast

Hello loves! How is your Saturday going?
During the school week, I lose a lot of sleep even though I try to hit the hay early. I either have to wake up early to study for a test or look over notes! Weekends are definitely my time to take a breather and relax.

I had quite the agenda today and I knew a protein packed breakfast was the way to go. I was going to be on my feet the whole day so my body needed the fuel :)

Enter the Green Pumpkin Protein Smoothie!

Recipe coming tomorrow! This was super filling and it had the perfect amount of sweetness.
I have a feeling smoothies are going to stick with me for a while :) This recipe has 2 different veggies in it! An awesome change from my usual sweet omelets.

After breakfast, I tried to knock out some homework because I knew I wouldn't have time later.
The life of an IB student!

I worked up quite an appetite and I wanted something satisfying to hold me over till lunch.
The new obsession of mine?

Sweet potato with almond butter<3 Seriously, match made in food heaven.

I've been adding a lot of healthy carbs and fats to my diet and it is doing wonders!
You're probably wondering where ice cream and pastries have gone in the blog. Upping my protein intake benefited me in the long run and I haven't eaten any sugary foods in over 3 weeks. Honestly, I don't miss them very much and if a sweet craving hits, I find myself turning to frozen grapes or greek yogurt and nut butter. This doesn't mean that I'll never eat dessert again but eating sugar in moderation has been helping my training and my stomach!

I took a break and browsed my favorite foodie blogs. I'm talking to you, Kath<3

Guys, Mama Smile has some legit cooking skills. I don't know how I'm going to live without her cooking in college!

Soybean soup with crab!
Those are some Hugh Jass peppers.
I'm off to the Kid's Festival!
This festival is sponsored by so many local businesses, it's free to everyone who comes. It's such a fun place to be with our family, especially on a beautiful day like this!

Children's Yoga! How cute!

Wellness center leading kids to dance for their health!
Local cheerleading group! If only I can do that...

Beautiful<3
The weather was the BEST today and it just made me even more excited for the season ahead. Oh, winter, come soon!

Those girls on stage gave me the motivation to shake my tail feather as well. I got home around 4 and was rearing to get my sweat on!

Workout

  • 20 minutes of abs
  • This circuit with dumbbells:

  • This circuit:

Thank you Julie and Courtney for these workouts! I was definitely "scared" to try both of them ;)

  • One mile run
  • 1200 jumps on weighted jumprope
My clothes were absolutely drenched with sweat at the end.

UCK. I stunk.

Workout, shower, eat.

Oxtail soup. So comforting!

Whew! What a lengthy post. I'm sorry I didn't warn you about that!
One thing I'm not sorry about?
Having a nice bed to sleep in :)

Can't wait to show you some smoothie love tomorrow<3
Sleep well my friends!

I Just Love Food.

HEEEEYYY. It's Friday friends!

This week was especially awesome because it was Homecoming week! Each day had a theme and you bet I participated in each one. Well, I tried to anyways ;)

For any of you who are curious, here were the days!

Monday: Tacky Tourist Day
Tuesday: Impersonation Day
Wednesday: American Patriotism Day
Thursday: Theme Day (For Juniors, Toy Story!)
Friday: Spirit Day

My favorite day was Impersonation Day because I dressed up as PSY.

Keep calm and Gangnam Style everyone.

But it's been crazy with school work and I did not go out once. I was dying!
My eats have been nothing but spectacular though :)

Warning: Major Photo dump starting now.

I promise this isn't grass!
Made my own granola!
Peanut butter granola love<3

What can I say? I enjoy sharing my eats with all of you!

Now, I'm just ready to dance away my stress and have fun tomorrow night. I think we all need to let loose for our own well-being, don't you think? Not to mention, dancing is a great cardio :)

Going to work some sweat! I took an unexpected rest day yesterday for some much needed studying and I'm pumped to get jump back in!

Falling for What I Ate Wednesdays

Hello my friends! It's finally the middle of the week :)
Its definitely hard to get over the "hump" but I bet I know something that could make you feel better.

WOOO it's back baby!
I've been so behind on WIAWs and I'm happy to be back with the new theme "Fall into good habits".
How clever is Jenn?! Such a cute name!
I'm sure many of you have different goals and I think it's time to make those changes in your diet, workout regimen or life that will overall make you a happier person!

Like I said in my last post, my camera hasn't been very nice to me lately and it looks like I have to get a brand spankin' new SD card. It hurts but I know along with endings, starts new beginnings.

Alrighty, moving along to the EATS!

Breakfast will always be my meal of choice. I seriously don't know how people skip breakfast!

Almond butter + Strawberry Jelly on whole wheat english muffin with sliced peach!
 ************

Enter nutritious and delicious snacks!

My body is craycray and likes to digest quickly, which means I have to eat something every 3 hours.
Oh well, more for me ;)

One of my goals is to include some sort of greens into one of my meals everyday.
So far, I've been doing very well!

Usually I go plain jane on my salads but the addition of feta is ridiculous!
It's been said before BUT...feta truly makes everything beta :)

Lastly, we come to our last meal of the Alina's day.

Don't think that just because its the end of the day means it lacks amazingness! Yup, totally just made up that word.

Star of Show: Homemade Korean marinated ribs. Heaven on Earth<3

Did I tell you guys that my mom loves to garden? She recently have been growing large peppers outside and I've been eating them by the handful everyday. They aren't the spicy kind!

Dessert has been sugar sweet grapes for the past week and I am loving it.

I feel like everyday is tiring, doing homework, fitting in workouts, and not being able to spend as much time with my family as I want to. But seeing these faces after a rough day of school?

I can't complain.
:)
